The Perfect Water

Haru later traveled to Hunza, one of five locations on Earth where inhabitants routinely live beyond the age of 100. Haru studied the water and the volcanic rock formation that acts as a natural filter for the Hunza region and found three factors he believed made the water unique.

First the water hydrated and detoxified the body faster than normal water.
Second, there was a high concentration of negative ions in the water.
Finally, the water had elevated levels of soluble silica - a mineral found in the nearby mountains.

After deciding these three characteristics accounted for the physiological wellbeing of the Hunzas, Haru dedicated seven years to incorporating these findings into the development of a filtration system comprised of conventional purification methods with the enhancing properties of rare Japanese volcanic stones.

As the popularity of his water systems grew throughout Japan, several scientists and researchers began to study the water's unique properties and found that it indeed exhibited the properties of Hunza water.

The first step to creating pure natural clean water is removing impurities such as chlorine, chloramines, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) heavy metals and taste and odor. This was accomplished through a water filtration and purification step.

In this hyper-enhanced form the water is bactericidal which means no harmful strains of bacteria can grow. This means that natural or synthetic preservatives do not have to be used in this skin care line.

The Marriage of Two Technologies

When, in 2000, Haru brought his system to America and branded it the Wellness Filter, he was contacted by several companies seeking to utilize his unique water technology. "A number of other companies approached me hoping I might help them develop an all-natural line of skin care products, but I was generally unimpressed," he says. But one company, Haru says, was different. "I met with David Fowler and later the CEO of the company," he remembers. "He was the most impressive of all the CEOs I'd met."
